Motorcyclist strikes deer on Princeton Road in Fitchburg

There is at least one serious injury reported after a motorcyclist struck a deer on Princeton Road at about 11 a.m. Friday, according to EMS radio broadcasts. EMS personnel on the scene report the man has an “open right leg fracture” and other injuries. The man, according to radio broadcasts, is conscious and alert. A Lifeflight helicopter has been dispatched to transport the 44-year-old man to UMass Memorial Medical Center, according to the broadcasts.

Fitchburg Police Relief Association 5K

FITCHBURG– The Fitchburg Police Relief Association put on the 24th annual 5K road race that supports local charities on Saturday June 25, 2016. This Year the money raised was going to the Veterans Homestead. This organization addresses the needs of Veterans through housing, Job training, and Education, Hospice, substance abuse services, a holistic farm program and a service dog program.
